Please call (402) 332-3936 before picking up the graduation pictures that were ordered. § The local chapter of Project Linus is in great need of more blankets as the requested amount of blankets is growing.
The current supply is being distributed as quickly as the blankets are being donated, and the chapter is requesting everyone that can to consider donating blankets during the upcoming holiday season.
Blankets can be donated at the nearest drop-off spot, which can be found on our website at www.omahaprojectlinus.org. § Alegent Health offers Lifesaver Parties that teach CPR. There is no cost, and the teachers come to you. The idea is to learn lifesaving CPR skills with your friends and family. This can be at a family gathering, or other gathering. The annual Gretna Chamber Membership Directories are available around town at local business, including the Gretna Guide & News office. The 2012 book is being compiled by the Chamber and will be released at the business fair on Saturday, March 17. § Any old, tattered American Flag may be dropped off at Loren Foged’s office on McKenna Street, and will be replaced with a 3’x5’ flag at no charge. There is a recommended donation of $5 to offset the cost of the program. There are about 50 flags to be distributed. The old Flags will be retired in ceremony by the Gretna American Legion. § The Gretna American Legion is available to help any local families with Veterans who need assistance. Please contact the Legion at (402) 332-4441 if you are or know of any families that would need assistance. § The information presented at the Gretna Public Schools’ Technology Savvy Parents night is available at the school’s Web site: www.gretnadragons.org. § The current needs of the Gretna Neighbors’ Food Pantry are: Soap: dish, hand, bars and detergent; Personal Hygiene items; Canned meat & dishes; Pasta dishes; Fruit cups; and Cookies.
